Energy Points helps executives make informed decisions to maximize the financial and environmental performance of their sustainability projects through their unique calculation engine for environmental sustainability. The EnergyPointsTM platform compares activities across multiple locations and environmental sustainability domains and set goals relative to benchmarks.  The concept will also allow executives to choose the most effective modus operandi within their sustainability budgets.

The calculation process is based on translating resource consumption into primary energy, factoring in geospatial and temporal variations in energy efficiency and resource scarcity. The result is expressed in “EnergyPoints” (EP). One EP equals the primary energy value of one gallon of gasoline. Both location and time is assigned a value that Energy Points calls EPG (Energy per Gallon), analogous to MPG, thus making the results intuitive. EPG is a function of local resource mix and scarcity, enabling accurate location-based decisions. The results are presented in tandem with the financial metrics that typically known.

Sparkplug Power, is a startup focused on energy storage installations. These storage facilities utilize lithium ion batteries to cut energy costs for Commercial and Institutional electric customers on Time of Use rates. We do this by reducing a customer’s peak demand and thereby lowering Demand Charges.  Demand Charges constitute between 30-70% of electric utility bills.  They’re one of three main ways we pay for the electricity we use.  The other two are charges for the actual kWhs used and a pro rata fee for the utility distribution network.
The Sparkplug Power business model is simple.  We plug our battery systems into your electrical system before the meter eliminating the peaks in your demand and shifting a portion of your energy usage from day to night.  We can also integrate solar systems and fast EV charging into our systems. For more information, visit http://www.sparkplugpower.com/.
